Reach into your handbag and touch someone. It’s possible with the new transportable, hand-held, cellular telephones that fit ever so nicely in their own leather carrying bags. Several of the telephones come with their own cases. But the top-of-the-line, custom-made case for the popular Panasonic 500TP is made by North Hollywood accessory designer Renee Gunter. The bag, pictured here, is constructed of supple black leather, and is fully padded with a nylon shoulder strap. It is available for $65 from the designer, P.O. Box 1626, Studio City 91614.

At Cal Cel in Sherman Oaks you can find a fanny pack-style black leather case for the Motorola 800, for $65.

For those folks who don’t hold with the newfangled cellular phones there is a bag with a conventional telephone built in, the receiver and push buttons on the outside, in either the $50 briefcase or $40 handbag style. Available by special order until June 1 from Latham in Westwood Village. It needs to be plugged into a phone jack. Any phone jack will do, but who gets the bill?
