Bobby Brett, brother and agent of Kansas City Royals slugger George Brett, has purchased the Spokane Chiefs hockey team of the Western Hockey League.

Brett purchased the Chiefs from majority owner Vic Fitzgerald of Penticton, British Columbia, but declined Tuesday to reveal the price.

Fitzgerald, who had asked $800,000 for the team, said it has lost about $300,000 since it moved to Spokane from Kelowna, British Columbia, five years ago.
