Schwartz Earns Wire to Wire Speedway Victory
Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa was a wire-to-wire winner in the four-lap scratch main event in speedway motorcycle racing Friday in front of 4,233 at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano was second, Lance King of Fountain Valley third and Shawn McConnell of Brea fourth.
Rob Pfetzing of Santa Ana took the lead in the seventh lap and went on to win the eight-lap handicap main event. McConnell was second, Pat Hawley of Newport Beach third, Dukie Ermolenko of Cypress fourth and King fifth.
