Country music’s most celebrated mother-daughter team spends almost as much time talking as singing in this 48-minute documentary-concert package, but for once the talk in a pop-video program doesn’t detract. The emphasis in the non-concert footage is on good times and sweet memories rather than revelations, so “Heartland” is little more than the video equivalent of a souvenir program, complete with family photographs and home movies. But the Judds are blessed with lively personalities, and their interview pieces are woven around country jewels with far more care than most efforts of this type.
