UCSD Remains Unbeaten; Advances in Water Polo

UC San Diego remained undefeated and advanced to the NCAA Water Polo Championship’s with a 10-5 victory Sunday over UC Davis in the finals of the Western Regional Qualifying tournament at UCSD.

UCSD (17-0-1) took a 9-1 lead into the fourth period and held off UC Davis, which also received an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament in Providence, R.I., May 4-6.

UC Santa Barbara defeated Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 13-8, for third place and Cal defeated Long Beach State, 19-8, in the fifth place game.

VOLLEYBALL

The seventh McMillin Realty Corporate Challenge volleyball tournament will be held Saturday, May 12 at the Del Mar Race Track.

Proceeds will benefit the U.S. men’s and women’s volleyball teams.
