Micropolis Reports Loss of $1.1 Million for Quarter
Micropolis Corp., a Chatsworth maker of computer data-storage equipment, said it lost $1.1 million in the first quarter, compared with a $13.3-million loss a year earlier.
The latest loss came on a 6% drop in Micropolis’ revenue--to $75.9 million from $80.6 million--in the quarter ended March 30.
The company blamed the loss on a shortage of circuit boards used in producing its disk drives. Micropolis said orders for its products, however, were running about 10% ahead of a year earlier.
