Nintendo Sues Retailers: Nintendo of America Inc., a superpower in the home video game business, launched an aggressive campaign against what it described as a rising tide of counterfeit Nintendo video game cartridges. Nintendo, a subsidiary of Nintendo Co. of Japan, with 85% of the home video game market in the United States, said it filed four copyright-infringement lawsuits in the United States and Canada against retailers and distributors who have allegedly been selling counterfeit cartridges.
