David Anspaugh, the director who won critical acclaim for his basketball movie, “Hoosiers,” will film another Indiana sports film--this time about women’s baseball.

A production company headed by Penny Marshall will begin filming a movie about the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League of the 1940s and 1950s--tentatively titled “A League of Their Own.” Primary filming will begin in June in Evansville, using the city’s Bosse Field as a primary backdrop. The film will be distributed by 20th Century Fox.

Cindy Livinghouse of the Indiana Film Commission said she was told Evansville was chosen because Bosse Field seemed to fit the era portrayed. Additional location sites will be Danville, Ill.; Cooperstown, N.Y., and Chicago, officials indicated.
