FOR KIDS STUFF TO DO : Singer-author to give concert

Share

When singer Linda Arnold performed in a Ventura bookstore last year, the crowd couldn’t get enough of her. But then again, it wasn’t every day that the audience--elementary schoolchildren sitting cross-legged on the floor--had a chance to mingle with a star.

“It was mobbed,” said Jody Fickes, owner of the bookstore, Adventures for Kids. “The kids knew who she was because she’d done some work on the Disney Channel. There was this comforting kind of familiarity for them.”

Arnold, an award-winning children’s singer and author who has appeared in concerts nationwide, will perform some of her latest songs at a family concert April 27 at Sheridan Way School in Ventura. The concert, which includes such puppets as Tyrone the dinosaur, Grandfather T the clock and Daisy Belle the cow, begins at 7 p.m.
