Karcher Contract Dispute: Carl N. Karcher, founder of the Carl’s Jr. fast-food chain, was sued in U.S. District Court over a contract to manufacture and provide building panels. The breach of contract suit was filed by Dondeb Construction Co. of Ontario, Canada, which claims Karcher and his family-owned Carl N. and Margaret M. Karcher Trust guaranteed that Truss-Tech Building Systems of Fontana would supply building panels for an apartment under construction in 1987. The suit seeks more than $3 million plus punitive damages. (Filed April 17, 1990. Case No. SACV90-296)
