A motorcycle accident Sunday on a curve near Palmdale severely injured the driver and killed a woman passenger.
California Highway Patrol Officer Scott Davis said the two people were thrown from the motorcycle after the driver was unable to negotiate a curve and hit a curb on 90th Street East, south of Avenue S, at 2:45 a.m.
The unidentified woman, believed to be a Los Angeles resident between 24 and 30 years of age, died at the scene, Davis said.
The driver, a 31-year-old Palmdale man, was in critical condition at Palmdale Hospital Medical Center. His identity was not released.
