Santa Fe Pacific to Spin Off Units: Santa Fe Pacific Corp. said it plans to spin off its energy and real estate units to shareholders by the end of the year, leaving the company focused on its railroad operations. The company plans to sell its stake of over 80% in Santa Fe Energy Resources and Santa Fe Realty Co. in the third quarter, a spokesman said. Santa Fe Pacific will continue to operate the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway.
