OXNARD : Elementary District Deficit Increases
The Oxnard Elementary School District’s preliminary budget for fiscal year 1990-91 has a $1.8-million deficit, $200,000 more than reported previously, officials said Tuesday.
The school board will discuss the shortfall in funds at tonight’s meeting, Assistant Supt. Ardyce Driskill said.
The deficit is due largely to the increased cost of employee health benefits, officials said.
The district’s total budget is about $54 million.
