SHORT TAKES : Nielsen Adds 2 Cities to Survey

Starting Friday, the A. C. Nielsen’s list of metered overnight markets will total 24 with the addition of Portland, Ore. In November, the list will grow to 25 with San Antonio, at which time the overnight ratings will cover 48% of the total TV households in the United States.

The 23 cities already on the list are Miami; Minneapolis; Sacramento; Indianapolis; Tampa, Fla.; Los Angeles; Washington; Houston; Hartford, Conn.; Denver; Atlanta; New York; San Francisco; Chicago; Philadelphia; Boston; Milwaukee; St. Louis; Dallas; Phoenix; Seattle; Cincinnati, and Detroit.
