Pasadena : New Trash Service Planned
The city will begin a new annual service Monday for residential trash customers who want to get rid of large items, such as stoves, refrigerators, sofas and hot-water heaters.
To participate, residents must put the unwanted items on the curbside by 7 a.m. on the normal trash collection day. The metal items will be sent to a recycling firm.
The solid waste division of the Department of Public Works has divided the city into seven sections, with a different area being served each week until June 15. Brochures explaining the program, called Citywide Neighborhood Cleanup, have been mailed to residents.
Special considerations will be given to those whose disabilities would make it difficult for them to carry heavy items to the curb. Information on this service and the program is available by calling the solid waste division at (818) 405-4087.
