Tustin’s Helicopters Over Irvine

I, quite frankly, am sick and tired of people like Greg Killian of Irvine (Letters, April 22) who do nothing but whine about our military bases. He certainly had it wrong when he said, “The base is clearly out of place.”

Killian and all the others who complain are “clearly out of place.” They knew very well the base was there when they moved into the neighborhood. So, Orange County really used to be a wonderful place to live, with many orange trees, the wide open spaces, and yes, our great military bases. And, we used to have a great place for the kids and families to go on weekends: the Orange County Raceway, which was actually forced out because of people just like Killian.

So, why doesn’t he take David Banning’s suggestion (Voices, April 12) and move to Blythe. My husband says he will gladly donate $5 to help him.

This is a military area, it always has been, and our hats are off to all of the guys in the Marine Corps who have had to put up with your kind of nonsense.
