Island Attractions in Puerto Rico Booklet

Share

A revamped “Island Attractions” booklet is available for travelers planning a trip to Puerto Rico.

Many of the discount coupons in the booklet are for folkloric shows given as part of the year-round LeLoiLai festival, which celebrates the island’s traditional music and dance forms.

But the booklet also has coupons for lodging, sports, sightseeing tours, theme parks, car rentals, restaurants and shopping.

The coupons, which may include free admissions to some museums and other attractions, cover such activities as a cruise around San Juan Bay, complimentary rum bottles during a guided tour of a rum distillery, golf, horse racing, snorkeling and scuba diving.

You can buy the discount booklets when you arrive in Puerto Rico at $8 for adults, $6 for children 11 and under. The booklets are valued at about $120. Many of the special festival shows cost $5 or more for general admission.

The booklets are complimentary if you book a minimum of four nights at participating hotels at regular room rates during the April 16 to Dec. 15 off-season.

Another perk is a 20% discount given for stays longer than four nights, Monday through Thursday, at a majority of Puerto Rico’s country inns.

For more information, contact the Puerto Rico Tourism Co., 3575 W. Cahuenga Blvd., Suite 248, Los Angeles 90068, (213) 874-5991.

Farther north, 29 hotels and villas in the Nassau, Cable Beach and Paradise Island areas of the Bahamas are offering guests complimentary discount booklets, with more than 60 coupons covering: dining and entertainment; various sports, including golf; sightseeing attractions, including boat cruises, and shopping, which may entail free gifts as well as discounts.
