American Ecology Posts Quarterly Loss

American Ecology Corp., an Agoura Hills provider of waste-disposal services, said it lost $278,000 in the first quarter compared with a year-earlier profit of $293,000.
The loss came on a 13% decline in American Ecology’s revenue, to $9.22 million from $10.6 million. The company blamed the loss on lower income from its nuclear engineering and waste-processing services.
