Two Major Natural Gas Projects Approved: Atlantic Richfield Co. and Mobil have won separate approval to develop two North Sea natural gas projects worth more than $600 million, United Kingdom Energy Minister Peter Morrison said in Houston. Arco will develop the Pickerill field in a project valued at $320 million, with recoverable reserves estimated at about 808 billion cubic feet of gas during a field life of 18 years. Mobil plans to export natural gas from the North Sea Beryl field to St. Fergus, Scotland, in 1992. Morrison said he anticipates approving another two dozen or more projects in the North Sea this year.
