Sandra Birch won her No. 1 singles match in straight sets as four-time defending champion Stanford swept 13th-seeded Arizona, 6-0, in the second round of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships at Gainesville, Fla.
Florida, California and UCLA, seeded second through fourth, also scored 6-0 victories. Georgia, USC, Texas and Pepperdine round out the quarterfinals.
No. 1 Stanford (26-0) extended its NCAA-record streak of 62 consecutive dual-match victories.
