* SENIORS: The “Playboy Jazz Festival Salutes the Seniors” concert will be held in Plummer Park, West Hollywood, at 1:30 p.m. today. Featured will be big band Ann Patterson’s Maiden Voyage, trumpeter Stacy Rowles and the Jazzbirds and singer Sandy Graham. Admission is free.

* BUDGET DEBATE: A controversial plan to lay off six workers in the ABC Unified School District while adding a new $78,000 administrator for research and evaluation will be discussed at the school board meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Cerritos. The proposed layoffs would be among $1.3 million in cuts to balance the district’s budget for the next school year.

* GAY FESTIVAL: The seventh annual Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Shoreline Aquatic Park in Long Beach. Admission is $10 per ticket each day. A two-hour parade will begin at noon Sunday, at Bixby Park (Cherry Avenue and Ocean Boulevard) and following Ocean Boulevard west to Pine Avenue.
