SIDELINES : Cox to Begin Rehabilitation
St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Danny Cox is scheduled to begin a 30-day rehabilitation assignment in the minor leagues Thursday.
Cox, on the comeback trail after missing all of last season due to elbow surgery, threw on the sideline before Wednesday night’s game against the Houston Astros. He’ll probably get about six starts with Triple A Louisville of the American Assn. and could rejoin the Cardinals in mid-June.
Cox, 30, has a 56-56 career record with a 3.40 earned-run average. He was 18-9 for the Cardinals’ 1985 National League pennant winners.
