Majority of Companies Test for Drug Abuse: More than half of the corporations in a recent survey said they test job applicants or employees for substance abuse or are about to begin testing, the Conference Board reported. Almost two-thirds said they believed that they now have a safer work environment, the survey said. The research groups survey showed 55% of the companies questioned said they test, or are about to begin testing, job applicants or employees. The Conference Board surveyed 681 corporate human resources executives in a range of industries.
