MISSION VIEJO : Trustee Will Resign to Obtain a Master’s

School board member Kristine Kister Robinson announced this week that she will resign to devote her time to her new job and a master’s degree.

Robinson, a Mission Viejo resident who has served on the board of the Saddleback Valley Unified School District for 8 1/2 years, said Wednesday that she will leave the board as of June 22 to pursue a master’s degree at Pepperdine University.

“It’s a 16-month master’s program starting in July that will take up most of my free time, that and my new job at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach,” Robinson said. “Two hours on the freeway a day is a killer.”

Robinson, an attorney for Douglas, has a daughter who will graduate from El Toro High School in June. She also has three step-children in schools in the Saddleback district.

The remaining four members of the school board decided Wednesday they would appoint someone to serve the remainder of Robinson’s term, which expires in November.
