A fire in a Leucadia market caused $75,000 damage to the structure owned by an Oceanside businessman, according to an Encinitas Fire Department spokeswoman.

Spokeswoman Catherine Carne said the fire was reported at 12:21 a.m. Thursday, at 1496 North Highway 101. Carne said 25 firefighters from Encinitas and Carlsbad fought the “difficult and smoky fire.”

No injuries were reported.

San Diego County sheriff’s deputies said transients were seen sleeping near the Royal Liquor Deli, owned by Amir G. Abdou, 38, before the fire started in an outside storage area.
