Share

The city of Simi Valley is looking for 17 volunteers to advise officials on traffic, safety and city development issues affecting local neighborhoods.

The Neighborhood Council program provides a forum for citizens to participate in city government, said Jim Wolfe, the city’s deputy director of environmental services.

The city has four neighborhood councils, with 13 members on each council. Members serve two-year terms.

Area 3, which stretches east from Sycamore Drive to Stearns Street, has four vacancies. And Area 4, which goes from Stearns Street to the city limits, has five vacancies.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and residents of the area in which they wish to serve. The deadline for submitting applications is June 1. Those interested should contact the Department of Environmental Services at 583-6753.
