Laguna Niguel Picks Planning Commission

Share

The City Council has selected five residents to serve as the city’s first appointed Planning Commission.

The appointees will take the reins from council members, who have been doubling as commissioners since Laguna Niguel was incorporated in January. About 30 residents applied to serve on the commission.

Everyone who applied was interviewed, according to Pam Van Haun, assistant to the city manager.

Selected were Donald P. Brigham, an attorney who specializes in real estate and business litigation; Brian Fisk, a planner for the city of Westminster and previously a San Juan Capistrano planner; Robert J. Healey, a retired university professor; James E. Olmsted, a real estate development consultant and past member of the Laguna Niguel Community Council Planning Committee; and Marc W. Winer, a sales manager who also served on the Laguna Niguel Community Council Planning Committee.

The new commissioners will take office in June. The Planning Commission meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m.
