CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : BAKERSFIELD : Missing Girl, 4, Found Dead in Field

The body of a 4-year-old Bakersfield girl missing for 12 days has been found in a cotton field. The Kern County coroner’s office planned an autopsy to determine the cause of death of Jessica Martinez. She had been the subject of a search since she apparently was abducted May 10 while playing outside her family’s apartment.
