LOCAL : Biker Is Critical After Crash
An Anaheim man was critically injured this morning when his speeding motorcycle plowed into a van on the Orange Freeway.
John Sentino, 24, was traveling north near the Chapman Avenue off-ramp at 1:50 a.m. at a speed estimated at more than 100 m.p.h. when he hit the van without applying his brakes, California Highway Patrol Officer Angel Johnson said.
At impact, he flipped off his motorcycle, flew about 40 feet and landed in the center divider, Johnson said. He was not wearing a helmet. No one in the van was injured.
Sentino was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was listed in critical condition with massive head injuries and a broken leg, hospital spokeswoman Fran Tardiff said.
