Torrance Doctor’s License Revoked
The state has revoked the medical license of a Torrance doctor convicted of illegally dispensing diet pills and driving under the influence of cocaine.
The revocation of Dr. Martin Fred Bain’s license will be effective June 14, by order of the Medical Board of California.
Bain had already agreed not to practice medicine for a year, after pleading no contest last month to charges that he had dispensed diet pills without examining a patient and allowed an unqualified office assistant to do the same.
Bain is serving three years probation for the criminal convictions and has agreed to enroll in a residential drug treatment program.
