Brando Lawyers to Appeal Judge’s Refusal of Bail

As Marlon Brando’s son whiled away the hours in protective custody on Wednesday, his attorneys said they intend to appeal a West Los Angeles Municipal Court judge’s decision to deny bail for the 32-year-old murder suspect.

Christian Brando has been charged with one count of murder in the shooting death of his pregnant half-sister’s boyfriend, Dag Drollet, 26, of Tahiti. The shooting took place in the actor’s 12-room house in the Santa Monica Mountains.

Meanwhile, Brando’s flamboyant defense attorney, William Kunstler, said he planned to take time off the case this week to act in a movie directed by Oliver Stone about the famed rock group The Doors. “I play a lawyer in the movie,” Kunstler said.
