L.A. School Board Rejects Stiffer Penalty on Weapons

I find the actions of the board to be hypocritical, disgusting, illogical, stupid and a dozen other derogatory adjectives. The politicians were quick to jump on the “ban the evil gun” bandwagon, but when it comes to “have a gun--leave school,” the politicians folded up. They say they have to “study” the problem some more. What’s to study. It is a violation of federal law for anyone under 21 to possess a handgun without parental consent. It is a violation of state law for a minor to carry a concealed weapon or to possess on school property any dangerous weapon.

The teachers should strike immediately. They are forbidden from switching or paddling unruly students but at any moment they may be staring down the barrel of a gun. Look at the record. How many teachers have been assaulted by students? I have never heard of a teacher shooting down her students. In Sacramento they are passing more laws against guns while slashing funding for criminal youth camps and arguing over prison sites.
