Parking Ticket Revenue in L.A.
I cannot believe that there could possibly be a shortage in parking tickets given out! Too few parking tickets? What’s next? Should Mayor Bradley start a program to ensure a set number of other types of citations or maybe even arrests to be made each day?
Parking officials say that there are no quotas to be made, but there are “standards” to be met. I personally do not see the difference in these terms.
If officers are pushed into writing a certain number of tickets per day, then there will be many unnecessary citations given to citizens in order to meet these demands.
I understand that a person violating parking laws should be cited but let’s not go overboard! The number of parking tickets given throughout any given day should remain random to ensure fairness in our justice system.
