Three men posing as cable TV repairmen robbed a 22-year-old man in his apartment on Pinecreek Drive in Costa Mesa shortly before 11 a.m. Friday, according to police.
The men told the victim they were working on cable lines in the area, asked to check his TV and, after the young man let them in, tied him up with telephone wire, police said.
The victim was then forced to open a safe in his apartment, which contained $14,000 in cash and $10,000 worth of jewelry, according to the police report. The suspects escaped in a brown Ford Taurus.
