Advanced Micro Devices, Sunnyvale, Calif., has named Richard Previte, 55, president, chief operating officer and a director. Anthony B. Holbrook, 50, was elected vice chairman and continues as the company’s chief technical officer. Previte was executive vice president and chief operating officer. Holbrook, a director since 1987, held the positions of president and chief technical officer. With Chairman and Chief Executive W. J. Sanders III, Holbrook and Previte share the office of the chief executive, which was created in May, 1989.
