HYPER: About 80% of hyperactive children are boys, and “first-born males have the highest rate of the disorder,” says Dr. Paul Hoernig of Newport Harbor Hospital. Newport Harbor is working with UC Irvine in an unusual program for hyperactive kids that links special schooling with medical treatment that many of them need (N1).
