The dates for the best-of-seven 1992 America’s Cup finals were announced in San Diego, and in a change from recent races, the series will have scheduled days off.
The opening race between the U.S. defender and a foreign challenger is set for Saturday, May 9, 1992. Races 2 through 4 are scheduled for May 10, 12 and 14, and the fifth through seventh races, if necessary, would be held May 16, 17 and 19.
The schedule eliminates the practice of either competitor calling for a day off twice during the final.
