Crawford Loses Scholarship Offer

The University of Houston has withdrawn its football scholarship offer to UCLA’s Willie Crawford, Athletic Director Rudy Davalos said.

Crawford, the son of the former Dodger outfielder, was sentenced to 60 days in the Los Angeles County Jail Wednesday after he pleaded no contest to an assault charge.

Crawford also was fined $250, ordered to pay $410 restitution and placed on two years’ probation. He will begin his sentence June 20. Crawford was charged with striking a 30-year-old man during an altercation last October.
