KINDERGARTEN FUTURITY AT LOS ALAMITOS : Takin On The Cash Scores One-Length Victory
Takin On The Cash vaulted to the top of the national picture Saturday night at Los Alamitos Race Course, where the son of Dash For Cash scored an impressive victory in the $233,000 Kindergarten.
Takin On The Cash, with Danny Cardoza aboard for his third Kindergarten victory, broke on the lead and was never really challenged as he cruised to a one-length victory in 17.65 seconds over 350 yards.
Takin On The Cash’s victory follows the colt’s April triumph in the Bay Meadows Futurity. Trained by Caesar Dominguez, the 2-year-old Takin On The Cash has won three of his five career starts and his $84,740 paycheck Saturday moves him to $185,000 in earnings this year.
Takin On The Cash was beaten in his Kindergarten trial May 23, but his trainer was confident the finals would be a different story.
“He needed that race in the trials,” Dominguez said.
