Machine Tool Orders Plummet: Machine tool orders plunged 31.7% in April from March, according to the American Machine Tool Distributors Assn., a trade group. Metal-cutting tool orders fell 31.4% in April from March and metal-forming tool orders dropped 34.7%, the group said.
