SOUTHLAND : Buckey Defense Asks Acquittals
Defense attorneys for Ray Buckey, the sole defendant remaining in the McMartin Pre-School molestation case, asked the judge today to acquit Buckey of five of the eight charges on which he is being retried.
In a written motion, Danny Davis, the chief defense attorney, argued that prosecutors, who rested their case Friday, failed to present evidence in support of the charges.
The motion will be argued Tuesday, after which time Superior Court Judge Stanley Weisberg will render his decision. Buckey, 32, is scheduled to testify that day.
