United Seeks Routes: United Airlines sought authority from the Transportation Department to begin nonstop service to Moscow and Berlin from Chicago’s O’Hare and Washington’s Dulles airports. The request comes on the heels of a new air travel agreement signed by President Bush and Soviet President Mikhail S. Gorbachev at their just-concluded sumit. United said it wants its application for Chicago-Berlin and Chicago-Washington service whien the department decides to extend new route authority to U.S. carriers.
