Imagine That: Jim Bakker’s cellmate Monday denied tabloid reports that the evangelist preaches to imaginary congregations. David Miskavige, wrote a reporter that Bakker instead spends his days comforting the sick at the federal prison hospital in Rochester, Minn. Bakker was found guilty last year of fraud and conspiracy related to his PTL ministry.

Getting Closer: Paul Olum, retired president of the University of Oregon who has been linked to Margaret Papandreou, the ex-wife of former Greek Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou, says he’s moving to Greece for good. “Athens has something that Eugene doesn’t have,” Olum, 71, said, “and I don’t mean the Acropolis. . . . I’m going to Greece to be with a very good friend.”

Royal Birth: Marina Mowatt, the 23-year-old cousin to Queen Elizabeth who caused an uproar by becoming pregnant out of wedlock, has given birth to a daughter. Mowatt, 27th in line to the throne, had a girl late last month in West London. Mowatt announced last year she was having the child of her boyfriend Paul Mowatt, who she later married. The name and exact birth date of the healthy 7-pound girl were not announced.
