Pomona : Plan to Aid Homeless

Share

The City Council has approved in concept a plan to help George Bosy, owner of the Four Aces Motel, provide shelter for the homeless.

Bosy has taken 65 homeless people into his motel and has acquired 300 mobile homes that could be used to house the homeless. Bosy said he would like to put 10 or 11 of the mobile homes behind his motel at 1390 E. Mission Blvd. as a pilot project, and he asked for the city’s financial assistance without specifying an amount.

Councilman C. L. (Clay) Bryant urged the council to approve the pilot project, but City Atty. Arnold Glasman recommended that the council wait until the staff develops a proposed agreement spelling out the city’s contribution of money and staff assistance. The council approved the project in concept and instructed city staff to present details within two weeks.
