Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man suspected of stabbing to death an acquaintance in front of a restaurant.

Arturo Rey Vega Rosas, 23, of Orange is wanted in the knifing of Pedro Rosas Hernandez, 24, also of Orange, said Sgt. Bob Gustafson.

Police at first thought that Vega Rosas was headed toward Mexico after the May 31 incident, but recently investigators received information that the suspect is still in Orange County, Gustafson said.

Rosas Hernandez died in the parking lot of Claudia’s restaurant on East Chapman Avenue after he apparently had an argument with Vega Rosas, Gustafson said. Vega Rosas allegedly pulled out a large knife and stabbed Hernandez several times, Gustafson said.

Vega Rosas is described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing about 175 pounds. He has dark eyes, black shoulder-length hair and a light-colored mustache, Gustafson said.
