World IN BRIEF : PHILIPPINES : 2 Reportedly Confess to Killing of Marine

Authorities said two robbery suspects confessed to the killing of a U.S. Marine sergeant who police initially thought was slain by Communist rebels. Wilfredo Corpuz, 20, and Rosauro Otian, 25, were arrested for questioning in a series of robberies near the Subic Bay naval base, and Corpuz allegedly confessed to the killing of Sgt. John Fredette on May 4 and named Otian as his accomplice. Both men reportedly signed confessions.
