Mulheren Prosecution Rests Its Case: The prosecution rested its case in the federal securities fraud trial of John A. Mulheren Jr., a former associate of convicted stock speculator Ivan F. Boesky. The defense then began its presentation in U.S. District Court by calling three prominent businessmen as character witnesses. Mulheren, 40, of Rumson, N.J., is charged with 41 counts of conspiracy, securities fraud, mail fraud and record-keeping violations involving Boesky.
