FOOTNOTES : Swedish Team’s Wives on Way

GENOA, Italy —
The wives and girlfriends of Sweden’s World Cup soccer players are flying in today for a weeklong visit aimed at fighting the so-called loneliness factor.
But the wives will not be staying in the plush seaside hotel in the resort of Camogli where their men are based during the World Cup.
“I really don’t know when we are going to see them. I guess we’ll have to sneak over to their place one night,” striker Stefan Pettersson said with a smile.
