Gibson’s Status Called Day to Day

Kirk Gibson, who suffered a strained groin muscle while running out a single Monday, was out of the lineup Tuesday.

Gibson was examined Tuesday by Dr. Ralph Gambardella, who confirmed the strain.

The playing status of Gibson, who has appeared in only 14 games this season after returning from hamstring surgery, is day to day. The Dodgers will be off Thursday and play in Cincinnati Friday.

Gibson is hitting .191 with three home runs, eight runs batted in and four stolen bases in four attempts.
