Newport Beach has the highest ratio of full-time employees per thousand residents of any city in Orange County. The upscale beach community’s 10.8 employees per 1,000 residents is 15% higher than the city with the next highest ratio, Brea.

Although Anaheim and Santa Ana have by far the largest full-time staffs, they rank fourth and fifth, respectively, on the per-thousand-residents scale. The South County communities of Dana Point, Mission Viejo and Laguna Niguel all get along with less than one full-timer per thousand residents.
